HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS

1.  Handle with Care

Treat your extensions gently to prevent shedding and breakage. Use a wide-tooth comb, a paddle brush with soft bristles, or a detangling brush. Always start detangling from the ends and work your way up. Handle your extensions as you would your natural hair—with patience and care.

2.  Wash Before Installation

Always wash your extensions before installing them. For best results, we strongly recommend shampooing your bundles twice and conditioning once before installation. Use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, and choose products that are moisturizing and hydrating to keep the hair soft and manageable. We recommend using high-quality products such as TRESemmé Rich Moisture shampoo and conditioner.

3.   Apply Heat Protectant

Before using any heat styling tools—such as flat irons or curling wands—apply a heat protectant. This helps prevent heat damage and prolongs the life of your extensions.

4.  Deep Condition Often

Deep condition weekly – This helps keep the hair moisturized and tangle-free. Avoid using heavy oils or styling products, as they can cause buildup.
Gently place your extensions in lukewarm water and apply a small amount of conditioner throughout the hair. Let them sit for about 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and allow them to air dry.
Note: Frequent use of a blow dryer can damage the hair. If you must use a dryer, always set it to the cold air setting.

5.  Trim the Ends Regularly

Split ends can develop over time, even with proper care. To keep your extensions looking fresh, trim the ends every 6–10 weeks. Use salon-grade scissors at home or visit a professional stylist.

6.  Maintain Curly and Wavy Textures

To keep curls and waves defined and frizz-free, apply a curl mousse or curl-defining cream while the hair is wet. These products help lock in the curl pattern and create a soft, controlled finish once dry. Curly textures require daily upkeep—lightly mist with water and reapply styling products to maintain definition.

7. Nighttime Routine
Before bed, take a few protective steps to prevent tangling and preserve your style:

• Gently brush your hair to remove any tangles.
• Style for protection — braid into large sections, wrap, or tie into a loose ponytail to keep the hair secure overnight.
• Cover your hair with a satin scarf or bonnet, or sleep on a silk pillowcase to reduce friction and help retain moisture.

Following this routine will help extend the life of your extensions, keeping them soft, manageable, and looking flawless for longer!
